Entering Berkshire County
opens a world of outdoor activities that is as diverse as the cultural
events for which it is known throughout the world.
The Appalachian Trail,
running between Georgia
and Maine,
is just around the corner with several entrance spots. If you would like to hike a more
local venue, try Bash Bish Falls
in Mt Washington, Monument Mountain
in Great Barrington, Bartholomew’s Cobble in Ashley Falls,
Race Mountain
in Sheffield, and Mount
Everett.
There are local
outfitters who are dedicated to helping folks enjoy the outdoor
life. Some of these
organizations include The Arcadian Shop, Berkshire Outfitters, Expeditions
and Eastern Mountain Sports who cater to hiking, kayaking, climbing,
backpacking, bike rentals and canoes. Hot air ballooning is another
possibility.
Around the corner from
The Inn is an 18 hole golf course and a community Center with free
weights, stationary weights, basketball court, indoor pool and
treadmills/elliptical trainers.
And right in our own backyard are 2 tennis courts and an
in-ground pool. At the end
of the day, you can treat yourself to a spa.
